FAQ'S

So What Are Eyelash Extensions?

Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are a year-round ‘must have’ for the fashion conscious! Lash extensions draw more attention to your eyes than mascara alone, and 24/7, so you’ll look fab when you wake up, after your workout, in the office, on the beach… One lash at a time, we’ll frame your eyes with a long, thick, luxurious set. Single strands of high-quality synthetic lashes are applied to your natural lashes to enhance and extend. Our lash artists create a bespoke look, using a variety of extensions to build the right volume, length and curl for your unique style.

How Long Will My Extensions Last

With proper care, your extensions will last 2-4 weeks. You should expect to shed most of them throughout the growth cycle of your natural lashes. We recommend coming by for infills when your extensions begin to look sparse. Be warned, lash extensions are incredibly delicate – so give them the TLC they deserve! Exposure to steam or extremely hot water, and touching picking, or rubbing your lashes can weaken the adhesive bond on your extensions.

For some, it may last for a couple of months. While others may shed within a couple of days. All hair on your body follows a specific growth cycle and will grow to a specific length before shedding. Because each individual eyelash is in its very own growth cycle, it is perfectly normal to lose a few natural eyelashes every day. Your individual eyelash cycle, combined with how well you care for the eyelash extensions will determine how long they last.

Having said that, with proper care and maintenance appointments every 2-4 weeks, your extensions can last indefinitely.

Do I Need Prep My Lashes Before My Appointment?

Yes, please! Make sure your eyelashes are squeaky clean – no traces of eye makeup – prior to your appointment. Use an oil-free make up remover if possible, and rinse well. Any traces of oil or makeup (especially mascara!) will create a barrier between the adhesive and your natural lashes, causing your extensions to drop off prematurely. If you use waterproof mascara, avoid using it 2-3 days before your appointment. The film it leaves on your lashes may prevent the extensions from adhering correctly. Remove contact lenses before your appointment.

How Long Does The Procedure Take?

Depending on the style chosen, and the number of lashes being applied, The lash extension application can take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours, depending on the fullness of your natural lashes. The normal human eye has 150-200 lashes per eye. Volume lashes take twice as long to apply the lashes. The more lashes that you have, the more extensions we can apply

.

  • Touch-ups can be done in as little as 60 minutes or less.

This is a meticulous procedure that requires patience and concentration. Therefore, it is important not to rush the process so that you can leave with a perfect set of lashes! You will be relaxing with your eyes closed, and you will feel no pain as this is a non-invasive procedure. Many of our clients are so relaxed that they often fall asleep.

How Do I Care For My Eyelash Extensions?

  • The more meticulous you are about caring for your eyelash extensions, the longer you can expect them to last.

  • Use ONLY water based and OIL-FREE products around your eye area, including mascara and makeup remover. Oil breaks down the adhesive bond. Creams and serums should be applied sparingly, and no closer to than the orbital bone. Anything that hasn't absorbed after 2 minutes can be blotted with a tissue or blotting paper.

  • Avoid waterproof mascara. If you can, it is better not to use any mascara at all as wearing mascara regularly will decrease the time between touch-up appointments.

  • Always wash your eyelashes with gentle lash shampoo, Remember, eyelashes are meant to protect our eyes from debris, dirt, and dust.

  • Dry thoroughly by blotting (not rubbing) with a towel or blow drying on a cool setting, then spin through with a clean mascara wand.

  • Avoid using cotton swabs or pads that will leave lint and catch on your extensions.

  • Avoid using an eyelash curler as it creates a kink in your eyelash extensions, hence reducing the life of your extensions.

  • Do not rub, pick, twist or pull at your lashes or eyelash extensions. If you would like them removed, please contact us.

  • If you can, sleep on your back to avoid the risk of lashes rubbing against your pillow.

  • Be gentle with your lashes. How you care for eyelash extensions will directly affect the look of your lashes as well as the length of time between touch-up appointments.

How often do you need to get lash extensions redone?

Lash extensions last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes, typically six to eight weeks. Because everyone's lash growth is somewhat variable (just hair growth), We suggest lash maintenance every two to three weeks to maintain a full look.
